TEQPONG $1,000 PER MATCH VS. TEQPONG PROFESSIONAL!!!
On Friday, May 10, we had a professional Teqpong player named William Maybanks bring his funky Teqpong table to LATTA. The fun challenge was: Anyone who beats William in Teqpong would win $1,000! A set consists of 3 games. 1 game is up to 8 points. He accepted a maximum of 15 players to challenge him from 7:30 to 10pm. Teqpong is a new sport originated from Teqball (Hungary). The net is made of transparent glass while both ends of the table are curved downward, so the ball just drops down if you hit it deep! Different game rules from table tennis and the racket is very slow as if we are using a defensive blade with short pips on both sides. Very challenging but fun! Among the 15 players, I was the only one that took William to the final game, lost to him 1-2 in games! It was close, just not enough to win the $1k…..lol. If only we had time to get familiar with the curved Teqpong table!
