Market Commentary

I will comment on the only thing that matters today, December corn.  Before I get to the techs on the contract let me start with a backgrounder. University of Illinois’ Farm Doc Daily reported a few weeks we have an 83% chance of being below trendline yield if late planting is 10% or more above average.  Considering that Monday’s planting progress report showed 23% of the nation’s corn crop was in the ground with a 5 average value of 66% that would mean that planting delays were 40% above average as of last Sunday.  The question now is, will we catch up?
