SPECIAL PRESENTATION
by Anna Tremere
Anna is a retired psychiatric nurse. She worked at Riverview Hospital from 1965 to 2001.
Anna will speak about her memories & history at Riverview!
Anna has spent many years gathering and documenting the stories of those who lived and worked at Riverview. Anna continues to pass on her knowledge by participating in several projects, organizations & committees including the Suitcase Project, the Riverview Lands Advisory Committee, the Riverview Horticultural Centre Society, and by serving on the Coquitlam Heritage board of directors.
In 1993 Anna Tremere established & assumed the role of President of the Riverview Hospital Historical Society. In 1998 the Society established a museum on the hospital site and welcomed the public. The museum preserved & presented the history of the hospital; an incredible collection of records and artifacts relevant to daily life of the patients and staff at Riverview.
After Riverview Hospital was closed, more than 950 Riverview artifacts were transfered to the collections of the City of Coquitlam & the BC Provincial Archives.
