Downtown Parking Reduced to $5

The Fayetteville City Council voted at their regular meeting on May 13 to reduce event parking in downtown from $10 to $5. The parking fee is charged during the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival, International Folk Festival, Fayetteville Woodpeckers games and other downtown events. More Info

City Council Begins Budget Review

City Manager Doug Hewett formally presented the recommended fiscal year 2020 City budget to the Fayetteville City Council during their regular meeting in City Hall Council Chamber May 13. Citizens can read the proposed budget and budget message, and follow the budget process, at the City’s Budget Chronicles webpage: https://fayettevillenc.gov/budgetchronicles. Big South Baseball Championship Tickets On-Sale Now

The 2019 Big South Conference Baseball Championship presented by Hardee's will be hosted at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville. The tournament is scheduled for May 21-25, and will feature the top nine teams in the final standings. The new format features two single elimination games to open the tournament, plus a bye for the No. 1 seed into the final six. More Info

City Announces New Board Openings

The City of Fayetteville is looking to its citizens to help fill 6 vacancies for the Board of Advisors for Woodpeckers Capital Reserve Account. Applications will be accepted until 8 a.m. on May 24, 2019. All qualified applications will be presented to the Appointments Committee on Wednesday, May 29 at 3 p.m. The Fayetteville City Council will approve board members at a regular meeting in June. More Info

North Carolina Homeowners with Damage from Hurricane Matthew Have Until May 31 to Apply for Recovery Programs

Eligible North Carolinians whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Matthew have until May 31 to apply with ReBuild NC for help with repairs or rebuilding. The help comes from single-family housing recovery programs available through the state’s Hurricane Matthew Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding. More Info
