Triangle Recorder Society

About TRS:

The Triangle Recorder Society is a group of recorder players from the Triangle area of North Carolina.  We are a proud chapter of the American Recorder Society.

We meet on the third Sunday of each month in Durham, Raleigh, or Chapel Hill. Meetings are from 2:30-5:00. $10 members, $15 non-members. All skill levels are welcome. Join us!

May 2019 TRS UPDATE

Spring Recorder Recital

May 19, 2:30-5:00 (Recital begins at 3pm)
The Forest at Duke, Durham

The annual spring TRS recital will take place in the auditorium at Forest at Duke on Sunday, May 19 starting at 3 pm. Small groups are welcome to start practicing at 2:00, and we will all join to practice group finale pieces promptly at 2:25.  Everyone should be finished with their warm-ups by then so they can join the group. 

*UPDATE:
Group pieces:
  • Instead of the Neuman Fantasia we will be playing "I Care Not for these Ladies" + Courante (anthology pages 26-27), SATB, dotted half note = around 76. 
  • O Lord, make thy Servant Elizabeth (anthology pages 22-25), SAATTB
Please invite your friends and families to join us! The concert is free, informal, and open to the public. We will have a reception afterwards provided by Forest at Duke.
 
As a courtesy, please do not leave after you play (unless absolutely necessary).  Stay and enjoy everyone's performance!

*DIRECTIONS: 
From Raleigh or Cary take I-40 to  Exit 270-U.S. 501, past Garrett Rd, turning left on Tower Blvd.  At 2701 Pickett Rd. turn  proceeding to The Forest at Duke gatehouse.  The recital is in the auditorium, which is in the main building.  Turn left after the gatehouse. 

PARKING at the Forest at Duke for Sunday's Recital: 
Once through the gate turn LEFT at the first opportunity, coming at once to unnumbered parking spaces on the left along the retaining wall.  From these spaces  it's a two or three minute walk to the main covered entrance of the main building.  Do NOT park in any numbered or reserved spaces.
