Georgetown Renovation Projects In the News

We're recently received some great Washington Business Journal coverage regarding two development projects in Georgetown: The former Zara building at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Prospect Street NW that is being redeveloped by EastBanc, and the buildings at 1353-1355 Wisconsin Avenue that are potentially being renovated and converted by an affiliate of Martin-Diamond Properties. Be sure to check out the coverage for the latest on those projects.

Whitehurst Freeway Closure

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close one right lane eastbound or westbound on the Whitehurst Freeway at the Francis Scott Key Bridge from 9 pm on Friday, May 17, until 5:30 am on Saturday, May 18, weather permitting. The closure is a part of the ongoing Key Bridge Rehabilitation Project and allows for bridge bearing replacement and fascia cleaning. Motorists are urged to use caution as they travel in these areas, to anticipate moderate delays, and to be mindful of construction personnel.

DDOT's Public Space Day

DDOT is inviting the public to attend its annual Public Space Day on Wednesday, May 22 from 10 am - 3 pm in the lobby of 1100 4th Street SW. Attendees can meet with senior leaders and program specialists from DDOT's Public Space Regulation Division (PSRD), learn more about the agency's oversight of public space, collect information, fill out surveys and pick up free DDOT-related giveaways. The District commissioned Public Space Day in 2014 to encourage and celebrate innovative ways of using public space in a rapidly growing and vibrant city. For additional information on Public Space Day, please contact PSRD’s Customer Relations Division at (202) 442-4670. If you need special accommodations or language assistance services (translation or interpretation) please contact Cesar Barreto at 202-671-2829 or Karen Randolph at 202-671-2620, with 72 hours of notice.
