Barrie Wilbee Bursary for
Sunshine Coast Entrepreneurs
To honour long-time community and business leader Barrie Wilbee, Community Futures Sunshine Coast, in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation, have created the Barrie Wilbee Bursary for Sunshine Coast Entrepreneurs. The $500 bursary to be awarded annually to Sunshine Coast entrepreneurs or their immediate family members who require funding to further their education and/or general knowledge in community economic development, entrepreneurship and business skills. Applicants should be able to describe what type of course, workshop, personal development, or seminar they are interested in taking, and how financial support would help advance personal leadership of their business or social enterprise. Applications must be submitted by email to projects@communityfutures.org, or received at Community Futures Sunshine Coast office (Box 128, Sechelt BC V0N 3A0) by regular mail no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 6.
Applications should be no longer than a single page, and must include:
Applicant’s name and contact information
Description of applicant’s small business or social enterprise (200 words max.)
Share some evidence that the venture is at least in the early start up phase (beyond the idea stage)
What will the bursary be used for (Be specific. Include link or contact info)
When course will be offered
Describe how this bursary will help to advance applicant’s venture (150 words max.)
Describe any current obstacles in the way of you taking the course.
Barrie and his wife Bev will present the award during the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation’s annual granting ceremony Monday, June 17.
