IACMI Engages Dept. of Energy Leadership and Showcases Innovation in Innovation XLab Series

IACMI – The Composites Institute participated in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Summit at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), the third in the Innovation XLab series, which highlights the assets and innovations of the national laboratories across the United States. Through IACMI’s participation, the institute showcased its ability to support connections between ORNL and industry, and to highlight ORNL’s connectivity to additional world-renowned resources, such as the IACMI Scale-Up Research Facility (SURF) in Detroit, Mich. Techmer PM Opens Multimillion-Dollar Production Line to Support Demands of Large-Scale 3D Printing Industry 

Techmer PM has had significant growth in the additive manufacturing materials market, and opened a new multimillion-dollar production line. Techmer PM is a strong IACMI member, having validated technologies and materials through IACMI technical projects, such as the Techmer PM and Local Motors project. IACMI is glad to be a part of Techmer PM’s journey to leadership in the additive manufacturing material field. Read more
Saab's global defense and security company lands in Indiana to open site near Purdue University 

We are excited to welcome Saab to Indiana, and look forward to the workforce development opportunities through this new location. This is a great opportunity for both our Purdue University and Indiana Economic Development Corporation partners.

Global defense and security company Saab announced plans Wednesday (May 8) to locate a new U.S. manufacturing operation in Indiana. The facility, located at Discovery Park District Aerospace on the west side of  the Purdue University campus, will support production of the U.S. Air Force’s next-generation T-X jet trainer and create up to 300 new jobs, with hiring starting in 2020.
