We are excited to announce the arrival of Gabor Fellner and his lovely wife Gyorgyi this week! Gabor is our new Head of Centre for Special Needs Education (CSNE) while Gyorgyi will be teaching conductive classes under Step & Smile. They have just moved here from the UK where they lived for 17 years. Originally from Hungary, the couple has also spent years in the USA and New Zealand.
Gabor has over 40 years of experience in special needs education including being a teacher, principal and director of programmes responsible for children with motor disorder and learning difficulties. Gyorgyi has extensive experience in conductive education specialising in younger kids.
A very warm welcome to Gabor and Gyorgyi!!
It was Teacher's Day on Thursday and the team was celebrated for the heroes they truly are. From presents to flowers, teachers and TAs were given appreciation gifts on their special day. Thank you for all that you do! |

Come dress up in traditional attire and celebrate end of the school year with "Diversity of Cultures", our Family Day theme. Please sign up at the office to bring a cultural potluck lunch or traditional finger food from the participating countries of Malaysia, Japan or Philippines. Also, if you have traditional items like games, costumes, art or craft, do sign up as well to lend those things for classroom decorations.

Wesak Day, which falls on Sunday May 19th this year, is a holiday traditionally observed by Buddhists and some Hindus on different days in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Mongolia, China and other parts of the world. The festival commemorates the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautama Buddha.

Nuzul Al-Quran

Nuzul Al-Quran is a Muslim holiday during the holy month of Ramadan, on which is celebrated at the beginning of the revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. Muslims do not claim to know the exact day on which Muhammad first began receiving revelations from Allah through the angel Jibrail, but many Sunni Muslims observe Nuzul Al-Quran on the 27th of Ramadan. However, in Malaysia, it is kept on the 17th of Ramadan.
