May
The festival is now 85% sold out. Do you have your pass?
August 9-11, 2019 will soon be here.
Festival Pre-Registration
We expect the 2019 festival to be sold out some time in June, after which we will maintain a waiting list for passes returned by passholders who can no longer attend. If you plan to join us in August, why wait? Get your pass now. Online registration and the downloadable mail-in form are at:
www.whenwordscollide.org/reg4.php
If you are unsure if you are already registered, check our online membership list at:
www.whenwordscollide.org/passholders.php
(Note that, if at time of registration you did not indicate to be listed, you will not be listed.)
Change of Guests
It is with regret we were informed that Charles de Lint is no longer able to join us this year. Fortunately, award-winning speculative fiction author James Alan Gardner has agreed to fill the void. Check out Jim's bio at:

Book Your Hotel Room
The Delta Calgary South is able to accept online room bookings. Hint: Book early; the past 4 years the hotel has sold out well in advance of the booking deadline. Also, this year WestJet has a festival discount for travel to Calgary.

Shared Author Table
Authors attending the festival who have books for sale not available elsewhere in the Merchants' Corner are welcome to join the IFWA-sponsored cooperative booksellers' table. Bring a maximum of 3 titles to the IFWA table on Friday (or when you arrive) and sign up to work for an hour (or more) over the weekend. Display materials (stands, card cases, etc.) are in short supply; if you have your own, bring them! During your hour you will sell all books at the table, and you can do signings as well. Contact person is the same as previous years. If you haven't already sign up and don't have that information, contact us and we'll put you in touch.

Dress as a character from your favourite book. Heroes, villains, and even aliens are welcome. From any era. Join us for an evening of networking with other readers and writers.
