Summer Reading Fun at the Warren Public Library

Patrons of all ages are invited to join us this summer for A Universe of Stories Summer Reading Club. Everyone will have a chance to win prizes just by reading and attending library programs. This year's prizes include Amazon gift cards, an iPad Mini 4, a Kindle Fire 7 tablet, Razor scooters, a bike, tickets to The Henry Ford, tickets to the Detroit Zoo, and much more. And, or course, the prize wheels and the prize baskets will return. New this year for teens: scratch-off prize tickets. PAWS to Read
Civic Center Library

Wednesdays at 5:00 pm
The PAWS program welcomes new and struggling readers to read to a therapy dog. The goal is to provide a non-judgmental atmosphere in which kids can read without correction or interruption and learn not just to read, but to love reading as well. This is a drop-in program. Please call within an hour prior to each session to confirm the therapy dog will visit.

Discovery Under the Dome and Star Wars Storytimes

Children in grades K through 5 are invited to join Dinosaur Hill Nature Center in a full immersion planetarium dome for an out-of-this world experience. The show, "Earth's Wild Ride", will fly you above the night sky and let you check out the earth from above. Movie run time is 50 minutes. Children must be able to enjoy the movie in the dome without their parents. Younger siblings are welcome to attend our Star Wars Storytime during the show. We are proud to be a Meet Up and Eat Up site again this summer. Children of all ages are invited to join us for a free healthy lunch each week. Lunches are provided only to children younger than 18 and students with special needs up to age 26. Adults are not eligible to receive lunches. Food cannot be removed from the building.

Gleaners Community Food Bank will present a free six-week cooking class series for children. Classes will include hands-on cooking demonstrations using several recipes. Children will learn healthy snack ideas, taste samples, and receive a free cookbook.

Children who attended a previous Cooking Matters for Kids class are not eligible. ***Please note that parental participation is not permitted.
