Happy & Safe Long Weekend!
From everyone at GameReady and Washington Kids Foundation
MALCOLM WILLIAMS
Coach of the Month

Malcolm began as a young athlete training with GameReady and was influenced by many coaches including Will Loftus. In recent years he has become a top notch CFL receiver with the Toronto Argonauts and has a Grey Cup to show for it!

In the off season he has been a huge part of the Game Ready partnership with Surrey Schools promoting and coaching physical literacy in the schools as well as coaching camps and special football workshops. He spends his off season training at Gameready; we are proud of you Malcolm and we will all be cheering you on this season!

MALCOLM'S FAVORITES:

Favourite Food: Mom's baked mac n cheese
Favourite Team: Arsenal FC
Favourite Athlete: Usain Bolt
Most Memorable Moment: Winning the 105th grey cup.

MALCOLM'S QUOTE:
"I love being apart of gameready, working with like minded people who just want to give back and help the youth achieve their dreams, like they did for me when I was younger. Proud to say I wouldn't be where I am today without Gameready. Thank you!"

Jaxon Stebbings
Athlete of the Month

JAXON'S FAVORITES:

Favourite Food: Penne Alfredo with Cajun chicken.
Favourite Team: Pittsburgh Steelers.
Favourite Athlete: Troy Polamalu
Most Memorable Moment:  Being able to step onto a big stage like BC Place and winning the Junior Varsity Triple A Provincials.

JAXON'S QUOTE:
“Gameready has helped me improve my individual skills as an athlete and the mental part of being a football player.Besides improving my game and skills as a player Gameready has taught me about heart. You won’t be able to succeed without heart and wanting it more then the next guy, you need to be able to have that passion and want to get more reps, play more games, dominate the opponents and that comes with heart and having the will to keep moving forward and not chickening out of a hard obstacle. That has helped me truly become a better athlete.”

“Saturday evenings are an opportunity to get better with the best football coaches around, improve your game and compete.”

Game Ready and the Washington Kids Foundation is a collaboration built on the fundamental belief that all youth deserve the opportunity to be successful in life, despite their circumstances.  We understand that youth learn and engage in different ways. Our program emphasizes positive leadership from coaches who will challenge the youth to work hard through workouts and then review the principals and concepts they have learned while pushing themselves. Our focus is on youth development therefore emphasizing skills and habits to be utilized for the rest of their life.

Programs ongoing in Surrey, North Van, East Van & Coquitlam.

“A big shout out to our Washington Kids Foundation soccer team who went 2-1 in the Seaspan World Cup; a charity tournament benefitting many charities!”

Our Mission

At Washington Kids Foundation, we believe that all youth deserve the opportunity to succeed.

Our goal is to help the youth in our community reach their full potential by developing the building blocks for a healthy, productive and independent life. We’re convinced that once the foundation is in place – our youth will not only make the most of their life, they will go on to achieve remarkable things.

Our Programs

Our after-school, evening and school break Life Pillars programming – made up of Fit For Life, Lead For Life and Learn For Life elements, is designed to give youth ages 5-18 a solid foundation on which to build a great life.

We provide a positive, safe environment and  team of coaches, mentors and advocates dedicated to helping youth develop the skills needed to thrive, such as good decision making, effective study and social skills, leadership, dealing with peer pressure, nurturing their bodies through healthy food and fitness choices, and much more.
