G-Life Outreach
The first half of 2019 has nearly blown by before we realized what happened. God has already blessed us with so much this year and we know its just getting started. We had a successful Spring Creek Outreach, Elements class, we developed our own apps for both G-Life Outreach and 4 Life Radio, and we had the Summer Pre-Heat event. Several G-Life soldiers have released new music and this year promises more to come.

Spring Creek Detention Center

Several times throughout each year, several of the G-Life soldiers work with the youth at Spring Creek Detention Center. This involves one-on-one mentoring and quarterly concerts. The one-on-one mentoring gives the opportunity to work with these kids in a safe environment where issues can be discussed and possible solutions are presented. Quarterly concerts involve several of the G-Life soldiers who volunteer their time and talents. Artists such as MVP, Rollah, D-Ro, Cross Centered Records, Illustrate, and Fame Montana come out and rock a 15-20 minute set for the kids. These concerts serve as a reword for those youth working to make better choices and turn their lives around. It's always a blessing to work with these youth and make a positive impact on their lives.

New Apps For Your Phones

4 Life Radio has gone through some major changes. Our previous server crashed earlier this year. This left us in a position to make some quick decision to keep 4 Life Radio broadcasting. Ultimately, we found a new server which offered a few perks that we did not have previously. With the change to the new server, 4 Life Radio is not limited to broadcasting with only the Tune-In app. Now 4 Life Radio has its own app for both Android and Apple devices. Now you can hear the best in local Christian hip hop and R&P on your favorite devices. Check out the links below and download the app today!

Elements
For those not familiar with the Elements program, G-Life offers free classes to those who are interested in learning music production, recording/mixing, and song writing. This program is accomplished with the help of Pikes Peak Public Library who allows us to use their facilities for the classes. These classes are offered once a quarter and offer a guest instructor each class who teaches about different aspects of creating music. Last quarter, guest instructors included Fame Montana and Illustrate. Fame, a veteran to the Colorado rap scene, offered direction in song writing and insight to creating a great song. His input allowed the kids attending to gain new perspectives and grow in their writing skills. Illustrate was involved in the production class. He taught about production fundamentals using Logix Pro X. The final product for these classes was a song that each of the youth contributed to in production and writing. Each of them contributed by rapping or contributing on the production end. The skills learned can be carried in to future music aspirations and the relationships built will create a network for support.
Pre-Heat Block Fest
The Pre-Heat Block Fest was a hit this year. This outreach involved live performances, a car show, food, and a bouncy house. Divine Flava, Cross Centered Records, Fame Montana, and Illustrate were just a few of the artists who blessed the mic during this event. The performances were live all afternoon. Cross Centered Records brought the whole family on stage and brought the heat. Illustrate proved that the art of freestyling is still very much alive. Fame rocked the mic with the help of his daughter and Divine Flava closed out the event in proper G Life fashion. Event highlights can be seen on the newest edition of the Colonel's Crunk featured below. If you missed out on this event be sure not to miss Summer Fest and Summer Heat later this year.

His love for people and for life shines through everything he does.He is a husband, father, rapper, producer, business owner, and massive Spider Man fan. He also does his own Facebook Live Series called Tuesday Let's Talk. He uses this platform to discuss scripture, share testimonies, do interviews, and talk about life. It's an online open discussion for people to connect and talk about God, faith, life, and how it all comes together. CLick the link below to check out a recent episode.

We asked Genesis four questions. Here are his answers.

 1. Dany future projects in the works?

I do have a project coming out this July, (Insert exclusive horn sound here right? ) entitled “Light Speed.”  I’m really excited for it because it’s sonically like nothing I heard.

2. What the next move for CCR?

This year Cross Centered Records is focusing on growing in evangelism. We want to utilize the gifts that God has given us, so that we can effectively “Move Tha Gospel.” Also, CCR just launched our Merch line. We now have everything from shirts and leggings to stickers and tapestries at CrossCenteredRecords.com/store

3. What artists have inspired you over the years?

Over the years, I’ve always been into lyricism and telling stories in music. Lupe fiasco’s first album is one of my favorite albums of all time, and I always loved how Ludacris could make me laugh. As I got more and more into Christian Hip-Hop I found that Trip Lee and Beautiful Eulogy we’re artist that I listened to daily! They are passionate about every word that they say and that has influenced me to follow a similar path.

4. What sparked your interest in Spider-Man?

Spider-Man is very interesting. My uncles were very much in the comic books when I was a kid. So, I grew up learning about Spiderman very very early. I could see how living the Christian life was very similar to Peter’s, because he often had to deny himself in order to serve people. I’m the oldest of 3 kids, so “With great power comes great responsibility” influenced me to be the best example for my brother Noah and my sister Moriah.
