Thank you for a terrific school year.  Your participation in our school community has been appreciated beyond measure.  Our final day of school for all students is May 31, and on behalf of our entire staff, I wish you a wonderful summer.

As I write this final Colts Connection, I also want to express my sincere gratitude for the ways you have supported me.  Your honest feedback and confidence has helped me grow in my leadership.

Prairie Burn Update

Based on the rainy weather forecast, we will not be able to burn our prairie this spring.  Rather, we will do an early fall burn.  Please look for more information in September.

Used Book Fair

Congratulations to Us!

Kennedy Community school was once again recognized by the Minnesota Department of Education as a PBIS Exemplar school. Thank you to the students, staff, and families who show, model, and teach the Colt Way.  A special thanks to Lezlee Bergwall, the PBIS Internal Coach for Kennedy.

Middle School Trimester 3 Report Cards

To allow our teachers to give finals, we will not send paper copies of trimester three report cards home with students.  Report cards will be available to view through the Skyward Family Portal beginning June 14.  If you need a paper copy mailed to you, please inform our main office by May 31.

Coins for Cancer

Kennedy students and staff collected over $900.00 last week.  The Money was donated to the American Cancer Society at the Relay for Life event on Saturday, May 18th.  Thank you for your support and generosity.

Lost and Found

All Lost and Found items will be on display in our main hallway by the cafeteria throughout this week and during the Family End of Year Celebration on Thursday evening.  Please take a moment to claim any items that belong to your family.  We will donate the items to a charity organization at the end of the week.

A Farewell Message from Ms. Kragness

I want to thank the entire Kennedy School community for the past ten years. As Talent Development Specialist and Young Scholars Specialist, my goal was always to provide challenging and supportive educational experiences for all students. I hope all students and their families know how much I valued the experiences I had with the many children I taught. Always remember to think deeply, work cooperatively and explore creatively. I am retiring from District 742 and relocating to Arizona. I will miss this wonderful community but I know I have many exciting adventures ahead of me!

Please note these changes to the menu for the last days of school. 
Monday 5-20: assorted chicken, roll, pineapple, and corn
Tuesday 5-28: hot dogs or corn dogs, baked beans, fruit cocktail.  Wednesday 5-29: Chili or Italian dunkers with cheese bread, assorted fruits. and veggies. 
Thursday 5-30: Cook's choice. 
Friday 5-31: Assorted cold sandwiches, fruits, veggies, chips.

We will not offer a salad bar or alternate line option on Friday, May 31 and potentially sooner depending on food supplies.  Also, a la carte will have limited availability the final week of school.
