Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner, the inventor who revolutionized menstrual pads
This brilliantly smart woman made life easier for women in the 50s thanks to the sanitary belt with moisture-proof napkin pocket. She patented it 30 years after she had invented it. Why? Racism: “When they found out I was black the company was no longer interested.” She also patented the toilet tissue holder, a back washer for the shower and a carrier attachment for wheelchairs.
