Family Bible School runs on the evenings of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the week of June 10-12, beginning with dinner at 6pm. So that we are fully prepared, please go to the website & register for free, if you are planning to come.  www.stjohnsparishchurch.com/fbs  Please make this an important part of the rhythm of your family at the start of this summer: If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Rob Schluter (rob@stjohnsparish.net)

~Snyder Wedding~

A message from Fr. Greg & Beth: It has been our honor to serve St. John’s Parish Church for the last 17 years. Both of our girls, especially our youngest, Sarah Grace, were loved and mentored by so many of you over the years. Please join us for the wedding of Sarah Grace Snyder to Michael Cary Brown on Sat. June 15th, 1pm at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke & St. Paul & afterwards at St. James Church, Ministry Center for the reception. Please email Beth at bsnyder@dioceseofsc.org if you are able to join us. Beth and I would be honored to have you come alongside our family for this most sacred of occasions.

~Men's Ministry~

April 25-28, several men from St. John's Parish Church (with a few friends) went on a hike in the mountains of western North Carolina. We connected with each other and with God in very real and tangible ways.  We were able to disconnect from worldly concerns and focus on God's activity in our lives.
We hiked many miles, through rhododendron glades, mountain summits, and river valleys...
and experienced every type of weather imaginable!

We are in the process of planning the next men's hike (this fall).  If you'd like to be involved, please contact Fr. Jeremy for details.  frjeremy@stjohnsparish.net

~Ordination~

Luke Deman, Will Klauber, Newman Lawrence and Corey Prescott

Ordinations are joyful celebrations – and not just for those being ordained, but for the entire Christian community. We celebrate together the faithful response of an ordinand to God’s call, the setting apart for a particular ministry, and we pray together that the ordinands may be filled with grace and power as they are made a deacon (or priest) through the laying on of hands. Let’s fill the Cathedral on May 25!

 By the Grace of God
The Right Reverend Mark Joseph Lawrence
XIV Bishop of South Carolina
will ordain

~Want to help your community?~VOLUNTEER!!!

Respite Care Charleston
Bring "More Good Days" to Seniors with Alzheimer's or Dementia

Join Respite Care Charleston's social day program for adults with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia on Tuesdays and Thursdays at St. Johns Parish Church between 10:00am and 1:45pm.

A genuinely FUN experience, you'll work with our program participants on memory games, arts and crafts, light exercise, music therapy and other social activities designed to stimulate them in a positive and uplifting environment. Volunteers can help with meal preparation, serving and/or clean-up; assisting with planning and coordinating puzzles, games and arts and crafts; or other activities related to RCC's mission of improving the quality of life of those living with Alzheimer's or dementia.

Volunteering with RCC doesn't require medical expertise, a background working with seniors or any special skills really - just patience, a warm smile and a willingness to try and bring joy to others! Our programs are coordinated by full time staff with the support of program assistants, so you'll never have to worry about getting thrown in on your own. The ideal volunteer would be able / willing to work out a fairly consistent schedule with a minimum of one hour per visit, with at least one visit per month - simply so we're able to plan accordingly. (We certainly welcome volunteers who'd like to work longer or more frequent shifts!)

Please contact Christine at 843-813-3051 or Christine@respitecarecharleston.org to schedule your first visit!
