Dear <<First Name>>,

You have probably heard a little bit about skyrocketing costs and exploitative policies that push health care out of reach for so many.

NAPAWF*NYC wants to take a closer look at what healthcare looks like for the most vulnerable of of our community: immigrant AAPI women.
Join us on May 30th to learn and take action!

Did you know? Immigrants are prohibited from accessing public, affordable health insurance like Medicaid and CHIP (that their tax dollars support!) until they’ve been in the U.S. for five years, because some politicians are set on denying immigrants access to care.

Being healthy shouldn't depend on immigration status. A five year wait for insurance to go to the doctor could mean delayed diagnoses and treatments, and ultimately be a death sentence.

The HEAL for Immigrant Women and Families Act is the first step toward ensuring immigrant women and their families can access crucial and comprehensive healthcare that is central to their agency and their lives, their families, and their communities.

Join NAPAWF*NYC at this Study Group to learn about the HEAL Act and how you can get involved to help expand healthcare access for all immigrants!

Thursday, May 30th at 6:30 PM
NAPAWF*NYC's offices (39 Eldridge Street)

The space is wheelchair accessible. Dinner will be provided.

RSVP for The Study Group on May 30th

A few days before the event, we'll send you some materials you are welcome to look over though it's not a requirement! We also want to invite individuals with expertise to help facilitate discussion groups at The Study Group, so if you are someone with knowledge on this month’s topic, please reach out to us at nycchapter@napawf.org.

In solidarity,
NAPAWF*NYC

NAPAWF New York City's The Study Group is an article club that meets regularly in order to further educate ourselves and each other on current issues that impact our communities. This is a dedicated space for civic-minded AAPI women and gender queer people to thoughtfully unpack issues, learn, and unlearn.

Graphic that urges people to sign a petition at www.napawfnyc.org/abortion-access.
P.S. Did you get a chance to sign our petition urging the New York City Council to pass a resolution opposing sex-selective abortions? As politicians across the country and even here in New York try to use racist sterotypes to push abortion care further out of reach for AAPI women, we're fighting back! Take one minute to sign the petition!
