Shoosh...
One of the most important things we can teach our kids about playing AFL is about the importance of being a good sport and treating players and officials with respect.

Our competition has an E-points system. Your team can be docked points if there is bad behaviour on the field or on the sidelines. (And don't think it won't make a difference to your position on the ladder - it will!)

Unfortunately, over the weekend, several instances of bad behaviour have been reported to the Canada Bay Cannons board.

This has involved obscene language by a player, umpire dissent from a parent on the sidelines and, most disturbingly, on field racial abuse.

This behaviour is not acceptable in any grade of footy, particularly junior footy. On the issue of racial abuse, Canada Bay Cannons has a zero tolerance policy.

We are part of the Shoosh campaign again in 2019 and we would ask all parents and players to zip it.
Swans v West Coast Corporate Box Raffle

Leichhardt Volkswagen has donated four fully catered corporate box tickets for us to raffle for the Swans v West Coast game at the SCG on 9 June.

$5 per ticket or 3 for $10. Tickets will be available at home games over the next two weeks.

All raffle proceeds go to the Club. Thanks Leichhardt VW!!
A couple of announcements for you Cannons as we head into Round 6

1. Merchandise
Orders for off field merchandise have closed. That's it for this year. Gear has been ordered and we'll let you know of an ETA as soon as we have one. We expect it to be delivered in four weeks and we will hand out at training.

2. Photo day
We expect our club photos to be held on either 23 June or 30 June. Some teams had been informed about a possible date on 19 May - that is no longer the case. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

3. Rep carnival
Nominations have closed to trial in the representative carnival in June. AFLSJ has your email address as a result of that nomination process and will contact you directly.

4. Umpiring
Want to earn $$ umpiring? There's a second intake of umpiring starting in the week of 24 June. Details and registration here: https://umpire.afl/
Around the grounds

New on the blogs and the socials... thank you to all the photographers and match reporters who submit on behalf of their teams. If you would like your team to be included, please contact Michelle.

Our big news is the win by our U15s. So, so good... and it is onward and upward from here, boys! There are some great images from Simon on Facebook and there's a match report on our blog from Paul NEW!!

It was an exciting day for U12 Youth Girls also, playing with a full team for the first time after some impressive team recruiting efforts. You'll find the match summary and photo on Facebook.

Continuing on girls and U14 Youth Girls Orange showed they could be just as dominant in Div 1 as Div 2... some great pics of their impressive win from Josef.

U18 Youth Girls showed plenty of guts in their game at Drummoyne Oval against a strong Willoughby Mosman Swans team. Pictures here from Michelle and here from Ian.

U12 Teal was redivisionalised from Div 3 and played the first game as Div 2 on Sunday. After a slow start, they kicked into gear  and powered ahead. Pics via Michelle here.

Another great game from U12 Orange. Laura's video is here.

Fabulous final quarter sealed the match for U14 Div 2. Read the match report and check out Sonia's photos.

U17s played a really strong game to defeat the Mongrel Ducks at home. Gallery of pictures from Michelle here... and did you see these marks? Sensational stuff, Cannons!

Finally, it was the Mother's Day round on Sunday... thanks to all the Mums who help run our Club!
