G'Day / Kia ora,

As the weather warms up so does the diversity of Aus-Kiwi themed entertainment visiting Prague.

Here’s a rundown on what to look forward to and we suggest you read carefully as there is the opportunity to win FREE tickets and get a FREE beer!

Prague Fringe Festival

24 May to 1 June

CANZA is again proud to support the Prague Fringe Festival now in its 18th year!

As always, the festival is full of fresh comedy, theatre, dance and plain wackiness, so it should be no surprise that a substantial number of Fringe acts hail from Australia and New Zealand! Performances are mainly geared to adults but there is plenty for kids too.

Take a look at the fringe website where you can buy tickets directly and select acts based on their content, country of origin and age appropriateness - there really is something for everyone!

Larry Gurruwiwi and Malawurr

12 July
Bolfanek, (Klatovy direction, Southwest CZ)

It is rare indeed when we have the opportunity to hear Aboriginal didgeridoo performers all the way from NE Arnhem Land so we are thrilled to announce this special one-off concert organized by Ondrej Smeykal.

Larry and his brothers Vernon and Jason form the band Malawurra. Together they perform ancient Galpu clan songlines and dance ceremonies carrying thousands of years of stories, tradition, and knowledge deeply connected to land.

Do not miss this unique opportunity. See here for tickets and details:

WESTWIND: Djalu’s Legacy

11 July - Prague Cinema location to be announced soon.

Larry Gurruwiwi, the star of the feature film documentary Westwind and it’s Director Ben Strunnin, will attend a screening and discussion of the film in Prague.

The film follows the Didgeridoo master, keeper of an ancient dreaming, tribal elder: Djalu who must pass on his sacred song lines and inspire the next generation by taking his music to the world. The film also features Aussie international recording artist Gotye. Westwind has also been hailed by Aus maestro genius Nick Cave, as "A haunting and important film about one man's heroic quest to keep the ancient knowledge of his culture alive, through the power of song.”

Stay tuned for details on the CANZA Facebook page.
