Tenterden Food and Drink Festival
Now in its third year, this event is a firm favourite and 2019 promises to be the best yet. There will be array of local, national and international stalls selling street foods from around the world, artisan grocery products and beverages together with an arts and crafts section. Alongside the shopping experience and alfresco dining area, there will be a range of entertainment for the whole family including children’s rides and slides. A live music stage will see a line-up of artists performing across a range of genre, whilst the Famous Last Stand bar will be serving a selection of craft beers, cider, wine, gin and plenty of fizz!

Fresh, handmade street foods including mouth-watering pork or chicken souvlaki, burgers with homemade toppings, jerk chicken, goat curry, authentic Thai delicacies, game sausages, kebabs, sweet and savoury crepes plus a range of healthy vegetarian and vegan foods. A range of refreshing ice creams will be on hand, as well as cocktails from a vintage VW camper van converted into a unique bar. Homemade groceries will be available for tasting. Award winning flavoured waxed cheese truckles, locally produced jams, fruit crumbles and juices, chilli relishes, ketchups, marinades and fresh meats are just some of the artisan and locally produced foods on offer. Bottles of chocolate wine, flavoured vodkas and gins will make ideal gifts or treats for those who love a little tipple, whilst barista style coffees, coffee beans, unusual teas and hot chocolates add to the line-up of beverage products to take away. >>> more

Ivy Court Surgery News

Ivy Court Surgery has now successfully relocated all medical services to (a) the Portable Offices across the road from the surgery and (b) to East Cross Clinic (the building next door to Ivy Court). The main Ivy Court Surgery is now non functional, ready for its redevelopment! "We request your patience over the coming 12-18 months while we work on our expansion plans for Ivy Court. The end result will be a state of the art healthcare facility for the town and surrounding areas."

We are looking for ponds!

The Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership are looking to create and restore wildlife ponds to help connect and expand Great Crested Newt populations. Funding is from a new District Level Licensing scheme and is connected to built development in Kent. We are looking for landowners in your parish who may be interested in having pond/s created on their land or have pond/s which require restoration; perhaps they need de-silting, are overgrown, have dried out or are overshadowed by trees. The work to these ponds would be undertaken by the partnership in the autumn, with no expense to the landowner. >>> more
