School Garden Internship Opportunities Summer and Fall 2019
Horace Mann Elementary School, a DC public school, is seeking garden interns for the Summer 2019 and Fall 2019-20 gardening seasons.  Mann’s progressive garden program includes an outdoor farm, native gardens, and a rooftop aeroponic farm. During the winter months we continue to grow produce indoors on our aeroponic towers. We teach children about wellness and environmental stewardship through a farm-to-table program.

• SUMMER: Urban Farming! This summer we are farming on our rooftop as well as in our traditional raised bed farm, and are caring for our native plant gardens and orchard. Come learn about different ways to grow vegetables and plants using soil and soil-less mediums using aeroponics!  Daytime hours are flexible at 5-30 hours and may include some weekends.
• FALL: Farm-to-Table Learning and Teaching! In Fall, interact with students, parents and teachers as we all pitch in to keep our garden learning program rolling. Help with traditional and aeroponic farming, native plant gardening as well as our Farm Market, farming and nutrition education programs. Hours are flexible at 5-30 hours a week.
