tidy up
Earlier this year, Japanese organization consultant Marie Kondo launched onto the scene with the popular Netflix show, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. ICYMI: the central premise of her organization philosophy? Keep only the things that spark joy. If something you own doesn't spark joy, donate it or throw it away.
Millions of Americans took this to heart, donating or tossing clothes, books and other things that tend to clutter up our closets and shelves. (It also resulted in some pretty hilarious memes.)
But sparking joy in our homes is one thing. What about decluttering, tidying up, and sparking joy in other areas of life, like our career or business? Forbes.com has some ideas, including decluttering your client list and streamlining your sales process. The Muse also has tips to tidy up your worklife and improve productivity. And Inc. recommends delegation and focusing on the parts of the business that bring you joy as a way to "Marie Kondo" your business.
For our part, what brings us joy each week is sharing some of the amazing products and businesses founded by inspirational women. This week is no exception, with a Q&A with the two women behind the Temp-N-Toss Disposable Forehead Thermometer, and our featured business, all natural insect repellent No No-See-Um.
Speaking of joy, it's wedding season and we've updated our comprehensive round-up of Women Owned wedding products, including vendors, skincare, attire and more. And if you're a little behind on spring cleaning and ready to "Marie Kondo" your home, check out our round-up of Women Owned cleaning and organization products.
