2019 Peace Corps Connect is just around the corner!

On June 20-22, HoTPCA is looking forward to hosting RPCVs from all over at the annual Peace Corps Connect conference. This year's theme is Innovation for Good. Click here to learn more and register, and invite your friends from service to join!

If you or your fellow RPCVs are planning to attend the conference here in Austin, then we have a few important and timely announcements to share with you:

Today is the LAST DAY for RPCV Entrepreneurs to apply for the Pitch Competition which is accepting applications through May 15th!
If you or someone you know is looking for accommodation, dorm rooms are available at $72 for the full weekend for ONE more day through May 16th.

RPCV Oral History Archive Project: Share your story!

The mission of the RPCV Oral History Archive Project is to find and interview all returned Peace Corps Volunteers about their intercultural service experiences and deposit the recordings in the National Archives at the John F. Kennedy Library. Want to share your story or be trained as an interviewer? Send us an email!

Third Goal Opportunity

HoTPCA has an Instagram account @hotpca and we have begun sharing RPCV photos from the field! If you have a photo you'd like to submit, email Kelli. Send photos of interesting transportation you took, your peace corps house, interesting projects or anything else you'd like to share!

HoTPCA Send-Off & Welcome Back Party

Past, present, and future Peace Corps Volunteers (plus family and friends, too!) gathered on April 12 at The Varsity Pizza & Pints for a Send-Off & Welcome Back Party. We shared stories about experiences and celebrated those preparing to depart for assignments overseas!

Grants Update: What your Dues Do

We recently funded two grants: Development in Gardening (DIG) empowers communities to develop sustainable community gardens and Africa’s Tomorrow provides funding for promising female student in rural Africa.

The focus of the grants committee had been on currently serving PCV's through the PCPP. We have expanded to include RPCV's with connections to projects and NGO's. Grant Applications are accessible via the HoTPCA website.

HoTPCA welcomes all RPCVs, applicants, and community members at our events. If you want to go one step further, you can become an official member! As a member, your annual dues ($15) help to fund the ongoing projects of currently serving Peace Corps Volunteers and RPCV-sponsored projects.
