With themes such as Aquatic Adventures, Naturally Crafty Kids, and Bugs and Beyond, children will experience a blend of science, exploration, games, and crafts, while learning and playing throughout the beauty of the Garden and the Conservatory. Register here

We're buzzing with excitement about Pollinator Days!

Pollinator Days
June 12-14

Don't bee late! Limited space remaining for our most buzz-worthy field trip festival event of the year! Students will explore the relationships between plants, pollinators, and people at activity stations throughout the Garden. This year, we're promoting sustainable transit by offering discounted rates.

Guided Programs for K-12

Our 45 minute guided programs - Glimpse of the Garden & Natural Heritage Walk - engage elementary and secondary students through observation, storytelling and collaborative learning. These interactive programs stimulate young minds while allowing for plenty of self-guided exploration in the Garden. Register here.

International Debate and Youth Conference
July 8-12

“Young People are key to achieving United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #15 (Life on Land)”

Seeking BC youth (ages 7-17) to meet with youth from around the world to share their unique views and visions on how young people can help to achieve this goal. Join in all or part of this incredible event in Victoria and Vancouver at the Government House, Songhees Longhouse, and VanDusen Botanical Garden. Keynote speakers include David Suzuki, Elizabeth May, and Vicky Husband. With diverse workshops and educational field trips, the International Debate is an opportunity not to be missed!

Act fast! Deadline is May 31 for (short) essay submission and registration.

Free Monthly Bird Walk
Saturday June 8, 9am - 11am

Join local birder Jeremy Gordon for a guided birding exploration in the Garden. Meet in the Visitor Centre Atrium. Event takes place rain or shine. Learn more.

Free for Members or with Garden Admission. 40 participant limit, first come first served. 

Hummingbird Banding Workshops
In partnership with the Vancouver Avian Research Centre (VARC)

A great way to protect our 250 species of local birds is to conduct research to increase our understanding and inform conservation strategies. In partnership with VARC we are conducting Hummingbird Banding Workshops (for VBGA members) and youth workshops at our Summer Camps.
