to Benefit GSDHJA and its Membership

Remember that early entries close June 7th - please be sure to get your entries in by this deadline so that we know the class counts early and can make changes to the class schedule if necessary.
 

This horse show will happen Thursday June 13th - Sunday June 16th at Galway Down Equestrian Center!  As well as being a benefit show for the GSDHJA and its membership, this show also counts as double points for GSDHJA Year End Awards and remember 
this years' division Champions will be winning a vacation for 2! 
 

 

There is still a little time left to sponsor an  ENTIRE DIVISION at the Wine Country Summer Show for just $250!  We will not print the paper version of the premium until next week!

$1000 GSDHJA JR/AM HUNTER DERBY
$1000 GSDHJA OPEN HUNTER DERBY

Please Note: The same rider/horse combination may not compete in both Derbies.     
        Derbies will run with two fence height sections   2’6 or 2’9 for the Jr/Am Hunter Derby (open to Jr/Am riders only); 3’0 or 3’3 for the Open Hunter Derby (open to all riders).
 

$500 HUNTER JUMPER TEAM CHALLENGE
            Open to Juniors, Amateurs and Professionals.  One HUNTER horse/rider combo teamed with one JUMPER horse/rider combo. (Only 1 Pro allowed per team max). Hunters to jump a 2’6 or 3'0 course to consist of six to eight fences. Jumpers to jump .85m or 1.0m course consisting of six to eight jumper fences. Jumper time to be deducted from the hunter score. Hunters and Jumpers will both receive 4 faults for any rail or refusal.  Three refusals total by team will result in elimination.  Placings will be determined from highest to lowest score after deduction.
 

OPEN EQUITATION CHALLENGE
            Open to Juniors, Amateurs and Professionals. To be judged on seat, hands, guidance and control of the horse over a course of fences set 2'9.  Class will run in 3 phases: equitation course, gymnastic phase, and final round with testing to be determined by the judge.  All riders to compete in the course phase, with the top 15 to return for the gymnastic phase and final round.  Champion to receive special prize and ribbons.

$1000 JUMPER PICNIC RACE

            Open to Juniors, Amateurs and Professionals. Riders to jump a course of fences set at .8m (jr/am only), .9m, 1.0m or 1.1m.  Riders must pick the height section that follows the cross entry restrictions enforced in by the other classes they are competing in at this show.  Rider may only compete on one horse per height section and may only compete in 2 height sections total.  Riders will jump their course, dismount, hand off horse to a handler and then run back to the finish line dragging a wagon full of wine and picnic supplies.  Fastest combined time will determine the placings. Winner receives their share of the pot, plus all of the supplies in the wagon

Please Note: The same rider/horse combination may not compete in more than one section of the Mini Prix.
           

"Decorate & Ride" the Stick Horse Stampede
            Open to Juniors, Amateurs & Professionals.  Participants will be provided with a stick horse that they can decorate and ride in the "Stampede".  Class will be run in sections, with height of participant to dictate which section they run in.  Fastest time in each section, and best overall decorated stick horse, to win special award. 
 

"Mucking About" Team Relay
            Open to Juniors, Amateurs & Professionals. Team to be made up of 3 "riders".  1st team member to be mounted on a stick horse, 2nd team member on a bouncy ball, 3rd team member jumping course of 2'0 fences.  The team member mounted on the horse must not be showing in classes 2'9/.85m or over.  Fastest team will win leather halters and ribbons.

"Rose’ All Day" Hunter Hack
            Open to Adult Amateurs & Professionals, 21 & over to Ride. Participants will show at W/T/C and over 2 Crossrails.  Rider with the most wine left in their glass at the end of the class will win a case of wine and ribbon.

"Apple Cider Young Rider" Hunter Hack
            Open to Juniors, young Adult Amateurs & Professionals, 20 & under to Ride.  Participants will show at W/T/C and over 2 Crossrails.  Rider with the most apple cider left in their glass at the end of the class will win a leather halter and ribbon.
 

"Scoot & Bounce" for un-Bridled Hilarity
            Open to Juniors, Amateurs & Professionals.  Team to be made up of 2 unmounted "bouncers".  1 team member to ride the first leg on the bouncy ball, hand off the ball to 2nd team member, who rides it back to the finish line.  All riders must complete their leg seated on the bouncy ball - no carrying or rolling of the ball is allowed.  Fastest team will win leather halters and ribbons.
 

“Saturday in the Park” Hunter Pairs
            Open to Juniors, Amateurs & Professionals.  Class shall run as an Under Saddle consisting of a 2 horse pair(s).  To be judged on best matched pair, performance, movement, soundness, suitability and manners to count.  Judged on flat only.
