Word from Williamsons
May 2019

March saw me (Barrie) once again traveling to Thailand and and then to a neighboring country (V). Around 35 church leaders came from the far north, and we enjoyed what was felt to be a tremendously effective ten days of training together. Three languages were represented this time with the national language being the language of wider communication used by most of the participants.

It is truly amazing to sense the bond that develops between us in such a short time as we eat, laugh, teach and answer questions in our times together.

Most of the participants are marginalized and down-trodden. They live, work and practice their faith under difficult circumstances. Some are responsible for teaching more than one group, and they sacrifice with joy. They are so thankful for the help we bring.

We thank the Lord that we were also able to complete the video projects, and, after editing, the teaching will be available in two major languages on YouTube! Thank you for praying.

This time each participant not only received a certificate of completion but also the four-book set of lessons in their own heart language.

More travels coming up ---

June 6th I plan to travel to Manila, Philippines, to join with our team there for meetings. I will also be traveling by plane and helicopter to meet with some of our church planting teams on the island of Luzon.

From the Philippines I plan to travel to Singapore. There I’ll meet with our NTM Singapore board and explore the feasibility of developing Equip Asia in that country. It is just a vision at this point in time, but it has great potential to be a meaningful tool for the development of those needing training for cross cultural church planting.

~ for the V. church leaders who we taught that they'll stand firm in their faith, and that the lesson books will become a great teaching tool for the churches under their care

~ for safe travels and good health during my trip (June 6 - June 22)

~ that I will be an encouragement to the teams in the Philippines

~ for wisdom as I work with the Singapore board to plan for the future

~ for Cherri as she “holds down the fort” at home
