APRIL 2019
Dear Friends,
We have had a very full and exciting Spring!  We would like to share with you some of the highlights.

Thanks for your interest in Hungary,
Alex Konya

Volunteer training weekends
We had our first volunteer training on March 15-17 and we had 26 participating. We are especially thankful for the many who are preparing to be volunteers for the first time in their lives. Our second volunteer training week took place in April with 138 who registered. We are excited to serve together with these young people in the summer!
We believe that all Hungarian kids should have at least one chance to clearly hear and understand the Gospel. We want to make sure that all who want to come to camp will eventually do so, regardless of their families' financial situation. This year one week of camping will cost $180. Unfortunately, for many Hungarian families this amount is too much.
In order to help these families we created a scholarship fund. We would like to ask you to prayerfully consider donating to help youth come to camp.

Devotional days
On April 1st we organized a „devotional day” in a high school in Debrecen. Along with songs and games, the members of our Sing Team were able to share their testimonies, and we were able to share the Gospel with more than 240 students. These young people were very attentive and interested during the testimonies and the Gospel presentation, as the vast majority of them had never before clearly heard the message of the Gospel in terms they can understand. Please pray for these young people, most of whom heard the Gospel for the first time, that the seeds of the Word that were planted may fall on good soil in their hearts.
On April 6th we had the opportunity to organize a special Easter devotional day for children in a church in Szigetszentmiklós. We had an amazing day packed with games, songs, crafts, and of course we also shared the Gospel with them. When we called on them to make a decision, many of the children said that they believe what Jesus did for them. We thank you if you pray for these kids and for the other similar events we will have in the future.
Ashley is a student of ours serving with CHE (Community Health Evangelism) in Boldog:

"When I first went to Boldog, I’ll admit that I was sorely disappointed to be put in the Boldog ministry and was overwhelmed. I felt inadequate, useless, and like we weren’t really making a difference; especially since I can’t speak Hungarian. However, over the past months, God has been showing me just how much...

I need to trust Him and learn to wait and rest in Him. I have seen changes, even if they are only minor ones, in the kids’ lives, such as being able to retell the Gospel, and being more open and friendly with us. The children also actively participate in the games and respond to the questions asked during the lesson. Many times, this ministry has stretched me outside of my comfort zone and helped me to learn how to teach and interact with children who oftentimes come from broken homes with little discipline. God is still teaching me how to love these children, and I can only hope and pray that they will see His love through us and want to come and know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior."

Satellite Camps
We are going to have 4 WOL satellite camps in different churches this summer. Many children apply to these camps who are not able to pay the costs of the camp. We would like to offer them a chance to participate in the camp and hear the gospel, even if they can’t pay for it. The cost of one week of satellite camp is $40 per person.

Support a young person and give him the opportunity to spend one week in a Christian camp where he can hear the gospel and perhaps come to Christ! We encourage you to pray and ask God if He wants you to be His instrument in this ministry of giving.

Prison ministry
„I was in prison and you visited me.” (Mt.25:36)
God cares about prisoners. On our staff Bela Dobos regularly preaches in a prison. Besides the regular prison ministry meetings, occasionally Bela can get permission to bring larger groups to minister to the inmates. God opened a door for the whole second year class of our Bible Institute to visit a prison on March 22nd, to lift up the name of Jesus, to preach the gospel and to share testimonies with the inmates about how God changed our lives and can change their lives too. Our students in this group represent 9 countries. Bela served as their interpreter so that they could do the preaching and share their testimonies. It was their first time ever to minister in a prison. Many prisoners gladly thanked the group for coming. Please pray that the Lord may continue His work in their hearts and change their lives.
