Conference on
Human Variability in Response to Food and Nutrients: Building the Bridge to Personalised Nutrition – Challenges and Opportunities for Industry, Public Health and Academia

May 15, 2019, Sydney, Australia

Population based studies in food and nutrition have been essential in contributing to overall human well-being. However improved understanding of ‘individual human variation’ in nutrient requirements has awaited advancements in nutrigenomics and the mathematical and social sciences. For example, the ‘omics sciences (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics)’ are providing new insight and understanding that can be applied to personalised nutrition with the ambitious objective of one-to-one product design. This 1-day conference will explore the nature of individual human variation in response to food choice and nutrient intake and how that may initiate a new era of opportunity for personalised nutrition will also be explored.

Science Symposium on
Human Variability & Personalized Nutrition – Opportunities for Research, Public Health Benefits and Food Innovation

May 17, 2019, Singapore

In recent years, scientific studies on Human Variability have advanced tremendously, with the “Omics” technologies (metabolomics, genomics, proteomics, etc.) in the forefront. This has led to the development of “personalized or precision medicine” targeted at individuals. There is science now showing potential extension to Personalized Nutrition, which will have a significant impact on the food supply as well as implications for public health.

Join  us at this 1-day symposium where we share the latest science and research on human variability, health and nutrition requirements of relevance to the Asian population, and explore opportunities for R&D and innovation in the food supply to achieve individual and public health benefits.

Seminar Series
1st ILSI SEAR Philippines Food Safety and Nutrition Assurance

May 23, 2019, Manila, Philippines

Food Safety and Nutrition in the title emphasizes the basic fact that there can be no good nutrition without food safety. The term Assurance further distinguishes the Series from others, in that the Series is closer to being outcome-based, designed not only to communicate but also to conform to assure food safety and nutrition, from farm-to-table.

This one day seminar will highlight and discuss current epidemiology of different food-borne diseases; share and discuss challenges and opportunities on food safety practices across the food supply chain; and discuss current road map and future directions in strengthening food safety culture and in improving food safety in the country.

Symposium on
Physical Activity & Optimal Performance – Status, Assessment and Programs

August 2, 2019, Singapore

Globally, more than 1.4 billion adults are at risk of developing exacerbating diseases due to a lack of physical activity. Despite growing evidence demonstrating multiple health benefits of physical activity including a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and improvement of mental health, progress of physical activity on the global level remains sluggish. In the context of Southeast Asia, this 3/4-day symposium will explore the nexus of health and physical activity, discuss the role of nutrition in improving physical performance and share innovative approaches and current programs in promoting physical activity, and challenges to achieve a paradigm shift in the population behavior.
