OUR NEW LOOK WEBSITE!

We're pleased to say that our (slightly tired looking) website is about to have a major makeover and the new site, which goes live towards the end of July, will be all shiny and new (yay)!

We're very excited and hope that you find our new website visually pleasing as well as intuitive and easy to navigate. We'd love to hear your feedback once everything's up and running.

For more of an idea of what our new website will look like, take a look at
Healthwatch Dorset's recently updated website.
Volunteer with us - Join our Enter & View team

We currently have some openings in our Enter & View team. 'What's enter & view?' we hear you ask. Basically, it means that we can visit all publicly funded health and social care services premises, see how things are running and report back to both the providers and commissioners of services and, where appropriate, even to the regulators.

To join our team you need to be organised, thorough, friendly (we don't want to frighten patients or staff) and have a genuine desire to make a difference to local services.

Visit the
Enter & View page of our website to find out more about the role, where you'll also find a copy of the role description and an application form.
Exciting opportunity to shape
London-wide mental health services

The Advocacy Project is working with NHS England and Healthy London Partnership to recruit people with lived experience of mental health difficulties (individuals and carers) to assist with a London-wide mental health project called the Adult Mental Health Transformation Programme on a voluntary basis.

Anyone getting involved with the project will be trained and offered ongoing support and supervision to ensure they can have a genuine share in shaping services and plans. This could be a really exciting opportunity for you to make a difference to the way mental health services are delivered.

For more information, please contact
Sarah Joy Dawoud on 020 8969 3000, email sarah.joy@advocacyproject.org.uk or visit the Advocacy Project website.

An information sheet and application form are available
here for those that would like to get involved.
Tell us about your experiences and encourage
others to do the same

Remember our It Starts With You campaign? We encouraged people to tell us what they like - and what could be better - about local health and care services.

Our survey is still open if you have a recent experience with a local service (good or bad) and want to share it with us.

Help us improve local services -
take our survey.
Share your Opinion on the Wandsworth
Health and Care Plan

What’s important to you when it comes to health and care in Wandsworth? That's what Wandsworth CCG asked health and care staff, local people and community organisations back in November of last year. The ideas and feedback they received were used to develop the Wandsworth Health and Care Plan.

The conversation around the Health and Care Plan continues, especially with regard to how people's ideas can be put into action. Wandsworth CCG is using the Health and Care Plan as a discussion document to help people find out more about improvements to services in Wandsworth and feed back their ideas.

Please read the document before providing your feedback which you can do here - give feedback on the Wandsworth Health and Care Plan (deadline 31 May).

If you'd like support responding to the questions, please email Naomi Good at Wandsworth CCG.
Healthwatch Wandsworth Assembly - 22 May

At our next public event on Wednesday 22 May we'll be discussing improvements to local services including the Outpatients departments at Queen Mary’s and St George's hospitals.

And we'll be reporting back on the results of some of our recent work as we're keen to share how what YOU told us has had an impact on local services.

We'll be meeting in the Sheen, Richmond and Barnes room on the 2nd floor of
Queen Mary's hospital in Roehampton (SW15 5PN) from 11am until 1.30pm (registration starts from 10.45am).

Please email
enquiries@healthwatchwandsworth.co.uk if you would like further information, or book a place via Eventbrite

Light refreshments will be available.
Voluntary Sector Forum - 12 June

The Voluntary Sector Coordinator Project helps voluntary organisations and community groups in Wandsworth connect, collaborate and communicate with each other, and with the local CCG and council to address health inequalities.

They will next be meeting on the 12 June at
South Thames College in Wandsworth from 10am - 12pm (registration from 9.45am) and would love to see anyone who works for, or with, the voluntary sector.

Why not go along and find out how you could strengthen your links with local voluntary sector groups and organisations and see what our team has been working on lately.
