INFORMATION | INSIGHT | IMPACT
Hi everyone,

First off, I’m excited to share a sneak-preview of my new brand, which the team at Third Principle helped me develop.

I chose the name “Coeffect” for two reasons. First, I'm bringing other consultants in and wanted a name to reflect our team approach. Second, I wanted a brand that underscores how much I value working collaboratively with my clients. I don’t see myself as the typical independent evaluator, who needs to maintain some distance to render an objective judgment. Rather, I see myself and my team as an extension of your team, helping you strengthen our community. I'm just beginning to roll this out, and want to host a little celebration for those of you in Denver – more to come next month!

Second, I have a bit of travel coming up, including a speaking event at the APSAC Colloquium in Salt Lake City (June 18– 22). If you happen to be going to this, or know someone who is, let me know!

Third, I'm publishing a blog series with my client Uncharted outlining how your organization can refine its impact measurement strategy. Here's the first post, and follow them on Medium to learn when the others go live.

Finally, thank you to those who came out to the Data Storyteller’s event I shared on May 2nd. I presented on the Economics of Child Abuse, a project with a long-time client to quantify the benefits of preventing child maltreatment. We had some great conversations about data visualization in practice, so this month I wanted to share several resources on DataViz I’ve found helpful:

R STUDIO PROFESSIONAL DATA ANLYSIS TOOLS

R STUDIO PROFESSIONAL DATA ANALYSIS TOOLS

I use R Studio for most of my data analysis. It's free and has a huge ecosystem of 'libraries' that allow it to perform almost any analytic task. If you're starting your journey with this tool, let me know as I can share some recommendations!
NO SHAME, NO BLAME

A humorous look at some dreadful graphs, reports and slideshows made by the biggest names in data viz… with tips on how to learn from your mistakes and move on.
HILBURN'S LAW OF DATA INTENTIONALITY

HILBURN'S LAW OF DATA INTENTIONALITY

Hilburn's Law of Data Intentionality looks at correlation between the intentionality of data collection, and the intentionality of data communication, and what that means for the amount of time you put into any graph or chart.

Shout Outs

Bright By Text
Metro Caring
Since my last newsletter, I’ve started working with two new clients based in Metro Denver – Bright by Text and Metro Caring. Bright by Text distributes timely parenting resources and tips to new parents based on their child’s stage of development, and I’m helping them refine their internal data governance and evaluation strategy. Metro Caring addresses food insecurity though its food pantry, nutrition and health education programming. I’m helping them build a Salesforce database to manage their programs, volunteers, and fundraising efforts.

I’d Like Your Help

I'm looking for a great business coach, life coach, or therapist to support me in the next step of my entrepreneurship journey. Here's more about what I'm looking for – does anyone come to mind? Please share anybody you recommend!
