Broccoli is the star of the Blackboard this week. I have posted this Cheesy Broccoli Bites recipe a few times over the years but it's well worth repeating. It's a great way to get fussy eaters to forget they are eating Broccoli.

Seasonal Tip: Look out for Jerusalem Artichokes over the next few weeks. They are a great seasonal veg that I like to roast whole, the same way you do Kumara or Parsnip. They make perfect eating alongside a roast, or try this simple soup recipe.

Mandarins
Mandarins are eating really well this week. For many years we have only had Bells Mandarins from the Far North, for me they are by far and away the best Mandarin. The Northland Mandarin season will be finishing in about 2-3 weeks so make the most of them now.

Chicken Drums
Slow cooked Chicken is the order of the day now that the weather has turned. Have a go at this easy 'one pot casserole' that will be a pretty straight forward weeknight dinner at our house this week. My tip is to scroll to the bottom of the link to read the recipe.

Courgette
New Zealand grown Courgettes usually go until the first hard frost of the Autumn/Winter. The good news is that there has not been one yet, so make use of them while you can. Try this recipe for Green Fritters that uses Broccoli as well as Courgette to deliciously increase your daily green intake.

Chicken Chops
Chicken Chops are one of our famous specialities, they're made on site by our skilled team of Butchers. They are great roasted, pan fried or BBQ'd. Make the most of them this week because we never have them on the Blackboard. If you have never tried them this is your week.

Friday Drinks
We are going all Paella and Bull Fights at my house this weekend. Tocado is ruby red with dark purple hints. It shows an intense bouquet of ripe fruit and floral notes. Just perfect for Friday night.
See you this week,
