The Ballot
Ballot papers will be sent out on or after the 30th May 2019. The ballot will close at 5pm on 27th June 2019. The result of the ballot will be declared on the 28th June or as soon as possible after that date.

If the BID is successful at ballot, the BID will commence on 1st September 2019 and run until 31st August 2024. If the BID is unsuccessful at the ballot, the BID will end on 31st August 2019.
Ahead of the vote, the BID has produced a video featuring a number of different business owners. In it they discuss their views regarding the BID and the improvements that have been made in the town since 2014.

They mention everything from the free training courses that have been provided and the investments into street cleansing and planting, to the comprehensive marketing support and provision of events and festivals which drive footfall into Northwich.

Check out the video for yourself!
See why fellow business owners will be voting YES in June.
What has the BID delivered since 2014?
Below are just some of the things that the BID has made happen in Northwich over the last five years.
  • 900 articles featuring in local, regional and national press promoting the BID and its events and businesses.
  • Creation of a social media audience of over 13,000 seeing Northwich news on a daily basis.
  • Extra 13,000m2 of cleaning undertaken through the cleansing contract that’s funded by the BID.
  • 405 Northwich employees trained over the past 5 years.
  • Funding of 32 railing and over 60 hanging baskets.
  • Total investment over 5 years of £157,703 into events and festivals.
  • 16 bins emptied every day in addition to the local authority baseline and additional support with litter picking.
If businesses don’t vote yes in June the town, and the retailers within it, will lose support, investment and a number of provisions.
Without the BID there will be...
  • The cancellation of any future BID led town centre events including Extravaganzas at Christmas, Easter, Summer and Art Festivals.
  • A 50% reduction in the level of Christmas lights and displays across the town centre.
  • Ceasing of locally delivered BID training courses to upskill staff from the summer of 2019.
  • The immediate cancellation of £15k of non-statutory BID funded cleansing contracts across the town centre.
  • Closure of websites and social media sites that deliver marketing to 100,000+ consumers annually including the Visit Northwich website, Facebook page, Instagram account and the Northwich BID Twitter account.
  • Withdrawal of dedicated marketing budgets to promote Northwich as a destination and cancellation of PR activities that currently support individual promotion of your business.
The above is just a glimpse into what Northwich will lose if the BID ceases to exist after August 2019.
