Dearest friends of the Center of Love,

Our Easter party this year was really great! Actually, we had 2 parties, so the children and young people got to hear the Easter story—complete with videos—twice! The moms came once, the day that we distribute a new outfit to each of the 75 persons who come regularly to the Center of Love (CL).

This is a long tradition, started many years ago by the volunteers of the Family of Love (F of L). Twice a year they raise money—much of it from the Garbage Village residents themselves—to give outfits to each person who makes up the F of L. Since this is at Christmas and at Easter, each one receives a winter then a summer outfit. Since the CL began 9 years ago, this program was increased to include "our kids" too! Of course, this means that the Muslim kids and young people also receive clothes, which is a great way of telling them that we love them!

We also have volunteers who make up treat bags for each person at the CL, so that's what they receive at the 2^nd party. The pictures will tell the rest of the story...

Some moms got to hear the Easter story too

It's that exciting time of the year again, as our annual camps are less than a week away! We will start with Girls' Camp (May 20-23), then the camp for the Chronically Ill (May 23-26), then Boys' Camp (May 26-29). But this year will be different because the camp for the children with Cerebral Palsy and their moms will be June 12-15. This is because Ramadan this year comes right during our usual Camp time, so the only way to include our Muslim moms is by having their camp after the month of Ramadan and the 3 day feast afterwards. They were very happy to think that we would change our traditions and routines just for them! Please pray that many moms will attend and be attracted to this Jesus whom they will hear about!

I have often asked you to pray for Julia, who took over directing two of the camps after me. (She is the sister of Mahrous Fakhry, who directs the CL with me, directs the F of L, and who has co-signed this letter). It seems that every year something happens to Julia and/or her family which makes it hard or even impossible for her to direct the camps. This year was no exception—her eldest son Yousef suddenly had to have quite major surgery this last Monday! Please pray that he will heal quickly and that Julia will somehow be able to accomplish her many tasks this week, in preparation for the camps.

As always, we are depending on your prayers to make these camps a success. The temperatures next week are supposed to be in the high 30's and low 40's C. so that is a big concern too!
