Hawaiian Art Newsletter from

Hi Friends,
Thank you for following me and the work that my crew and I do to foster love for Art and Nature. This month's Art Tip is on finding and pushing your artistic limits.

This newsletter comes with an exciting announcement: the launch of my new website, www.PatrickChing.com ...where you will find art news, art lessons, event dates, original paintings, new releases and fine art prints.

Please enjoy browsing the new website and help us bless it with a purchase and receive a FREE 8"x10" print of your choice from now 'til June 30.

Each month, we'll also feature an episode of the Painting In Paradise TV Show that runs on Spectrum OC16. This month we introduce the Art Frog that taught me how to paint.

Of course, we’ll always have our favorite photos, and we encourage you to submit photos for us to share.

With Aloha from me,

Art Tip

Know Your Limits...by Exceeding Them
When it comes to art, most of us are afraid to “push our limits”. We are safe in our zone of familiarity, in our “wheelhouse”.

We can do what we are good at all day and night. When it comes to trying something new we get afraid; mostly of criticism.

My father often told me, “Son, you gotta know your limits”. To this I replied, “How will I know them unless I go past them?”

In trying something new artistically I’d like to encourage you to go past your limits or your comfort zone. See if you feel bad or good about it. If you feel bad you may have really discovered one of your limits; a place you don’t want to go again. If you feel good, then you have just expanded your range of your talent.
