Celebrating Graduates in Worship
A Service of Baptism and Confirmation will be held on Sunday, June 9th during our Pentecost Worship Service. This celebration of the work of the Holy Spirit will be a wonderful expression of our Confirmands and their work together this past year. Please plan to attend to support Caroline Halwax, Hannah & Max Kaplan, Jake Moskow and Ryan Smith! We will host a confirmation reception following the service and invite you to congratulation the newest members of our congregation.

Confirmation Banquet
Saturday Evening, June 8 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. - Confirmands and their parents, grandparents, siblings and NSUMC sponsors will gather for a celebration dinner. It will be a special evening to reflect on the Confirmation Journey! Confirmands, parents and sponsors will have a brief rehearsal at 7:45 while guests continue enjoying their dessert.

Banner Raising & Father's Day BBQ
Join us Sun, June 16th at 10 AM for a special, outdoor worship service in which a new rainbow banner will be raised near the Greenleaf Ave entrance to the church. The above picture is a mock-up of what it will look like once installed/setup. This banner is intended to show our church's continued solidarity with and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Following worship, there will be a BBQ in honor of Father's Day. An exciting Sunday not to be missed!

Movie Night
On Fri, June 14th, the Movie Night Group will be watching "La La Land." It stars Ryan Gosling as a jazz pianist and Emma Stone as an aspiring actress, who meet and fall in love while pursuing their dreams in Los Angeles. Arrive at 6:30 PM in Barbee Hall for dinner, and then stay for the movie! Consider bringing something to pass at dinner.

United Methodists from the Chicago Northwestern District will gather for a special Pentecost worship service led by our District Superintendent, Rev. Brittany Isaac, at Elston Ave UMC (5850 N. Elston Ave, Chicago, IL 60646) on Sunday, June 9th at 5:00 PM. Woven into the worship experience will be several languages and various forms of music. A special potluck will follow worship. Many accomplishemtns occuring throughout the CNW District will also be celebrated. Please email Pastor Scott (shimel@northshoreumc.com) if you are planning on attending.

Rummage Sale Collection Open!
This year's Rummage Sale is Sat, Oct. 5. The church is now collecting items for the sale. Please drop items off during office hours of 9 AM to 12 PM M-F. To arrange a special delivery outside of office hours, contact Rev. Barb Javore (bjavore@northshoreumc.com or (847) 828-7700). Proceeds go to help the church's budget as well as outside ministries supported by the church.

Online Volunteer Sign-Ups
The church has moved to an
online sign-up system via SignUpGenius.com for all volunteer opportunities. This is intended to replace the clipboard sign-up approach the church used for years. The church is always in need of more volunteers for Sunday morning, and other opportunities as well, like Soup Kitchen. At any time, you can visit www.northshoreumc.com/ volunteer and click on the respective opportunity to serve. You will also receive a reminder 3 days before your volunteer date via the email you provide at time-of-sign-up. If you need any assistance with this new sign-up system, please contact Pastor Scott.
