We are proud to introduce to you
our newest addition to our TAP family.
Invite them to come and deliver a Mental Health & Well-Being workshop at your school!
Meet Dog, Moose, Squirrel, Polar Bear & Beaver!
In collaboration with Skylark Children, Youth and Families Services we have created two NEW Mental Health & Well-Being Workshops for students in Kindergarten & Grades 1-3.
These new programs are designed to support student success and help change the staggering statistics of youth struggling with mental health issues by educating them about their own mental health at an early age.
With these workshops students will learn:
- to identify feelings and emotions,
- how to recognize them and
- about the importance of getting help when needed.
At school feeling safe, engaged and included all contribute to having a positive sense of well-being. Our TAP puppets encourage students to talk about sensitive issues that otherwise go unaddressed. 'When puppets talk, children listen'. Students come away from our workshops with strategies that they can use & learn that reaching out for help is the first step in making positive changes.
All of our workshops are designed to promote healthy, effective conversations about inclusion and acceptance. TAP's workshops are connected to the Ontario curriculum and support Character Development Traits and Character Virtues. We facilitate and discuss issues about diversity, inclusion and mental health and well-being using inquiry based learning.
TAP is a current partner with the Toronto District School Board.
