Berkey Announcements
Baptism Sunday
This Sunday, June 2, is Baptism Sunday. Everyone is invited to the church at 9:00 a.m. for breakfast. Bring a finger food dish to share. It will be helpful if you bring your dish several minutes before the starting time.
Examples of breakfast finger foods are hard boiled eggs, mini quiche, cheese, ham, mini muffins, sweet rolls, or fruit, etc. Paper supplies and drink will be provided.
Our worship service will be held in our sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. where Ellie Wenger will be baptized and sign the membership book.
Nursery During Summer Months
During the summer months parents will be able to take young children to the nursery during the worship hour. However, parents should expect to remain with their children, as there will not be volunteers providing childcare.
Graduation Open-House Invitation
Doug and Cindy Baker invite everyone to an open house for their grandson, Jaiden, on Sunday, June 2, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Baker home (310 Oak Lane). Jaiden has been living with Doug and Cindy while finishing up at Goshen High School, and he attended Berkey regularly throughout elementary and middle school. Jaiden will be heading to IU Bloomington in August.
Summer Sunday School
Summer Sunday School begins next Sunday, June 9. You will have the choice of an input/discussion option in the sanctuary and an active option elsewhere. A full schedule is posted on the bulletin board by the mailboxes.
June 9 Class Options:
- Input/Discussion: "The Food We Were Born to Eat," led by Ben Buckwalter.
- Activity: James & Trish Yoder will lead a Frisbee golf scramble that will incorporate some word puzzles on each hole. A scramble consists of two or more players forming a team, emphasizing fun without the pressure of players keeping individual scores. Each player hits a tee shot on each hole, but everyone plays from the spot of the best shot. Please bring a Frisbee for yourself and any extras to share with others.
Custodian Opening
If you or someone you know might be interested in a part-time job as our custodian, please contact Lisa Heinz, Dale Snyder or Al Weldy by June 9.

Berkey Prayer Circle
The Prayer Circle of three to five people meets routinely on Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the church offices. We pray for Berkey members who have shared joys and concerns during the worship service, by using the blue prayer cards, or through individual concerns specifically expressed to us. All prayer requests are kept confidential. Additionally, we pray for the life of Berkey Ave, the community surrounding it, and the wider world.
New Photos
Summer vacation is a great time to take photos of yourself and of your family. Consider submitting one of those awesome photos to the office for use in the congregational directory. We'd love to see the most recent photos of you! Directory photos will be printed for the Getting to Know Board in the fellowship hall in mid-August so please turn in your photos by then. Questions? See Jenny Hooley.
