Four years ago, SAMCEDA was looking for ways to best capture the
uniqueness of San Mateo County and our region---“THRED” Talks was born.
“THRED" Talks is a showcase for leaders to weave our region together through Transportation, Housing, Regionalism, Economy and Development – 5 subjects that encompass opportunities and challenges that come with change. Not easy subjects and not easy solutions but creative ideas that demonstrate forward-thinking mindsets to solve public policy challenges.

Assemblymember Marc Berman is hosting a Wildfire Town Hall on Saturday, June 22nd from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM in the Portola Valley Community Hall. This Town Hall will give the public a chance to hear from a panel of experts from across the district on wildfire prevention efforts.
CAL Fire and CAL Office of Emergency Services will share state-level efforts while local responders will provide information on how to make your home more fire resistant. PG&E will provide essential information about their work to reduce fires including turning off power in certain weather conditions. The Office of Assemblymember Marc Berman has been hearing from their constituents about this topic and want to provide as much information as possible.
Refreshments will be provided. This event is open to the public.
