The kids might have had a short, relaxing 3-day week with the two public holidays... however, the team was kept busy. We had our last Professional Development for the final quarter on Wednesday.
We started off with some informational/update sessions on disability models, ULC education streams, types of learning disorders and developing IEPs. Gabor and Gyorgyi also shared their experiences which shed more light on inclusive education worldwide. It was very insightful.
After that, pairs of teachers sportingly stepped out and role played scenarios to help the team understand how to manage student behaviour in the classroom. In the midst of all the hilarity, strategies were shared and many found it refreshingly practical.
Andrew ended the Teacher In-Service day by sharing his heart on what our future looks like in inclusive education. With a renewed sense of purpose, we are inspired to bring our collaborative efforts to greater heights in creating a better learning environment for your kids. |
