City Offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2019 in honor of Memorial Day. City Offices will reopen Tuesday, May 28,  2019.
Main Street Waterline Replacement Project
Jordan's Point Dam Removal
The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries began the removal of the Jordan's Point Dam yesterday, May 23, 2019.
Maury River users be advised that in-stream construction activity will be occurring in the vicinity of Jordan's Point Dam beginning April 9th and continuing until further notice. Use of the river between the Jordan's Point Park river-access point and the Dam is not recommended during this time. Read more about the project here
Bulk and Brush Pick-Up Announcement

There will be no bulk or brush pick up on Memorial Day, Monday the 27th. Solid waste, recycling and cardboard pick up will be normal. Crews will be go back to collect bulk and brush from Mondays run on Thursday the 30th.
Bypass 11 paving will begin on Tuesday, May 28th between the Maury River Bridge and the South City Line (just before the ramp leading to Sheetz). Night paving operations will be employed with work starting at 8PM. Approximately three nights will be required to complete this section of roadway.
Board Of Equalization announces meetings to hear complaints on 2018 completed General Reassessment

To appear before the Board of Equalization, please call 540-462-3701 to schedule an appointment. All residential appeal hearing appointments must be scheduled by April 18, 2019. Meetings of the Board to hear objections will be held in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room, Lexington City Hall, 300 East Washington Street. The dates and times are:

                        Monday, June 3, 2019                   6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

                        Tuesday, June 4, 2019                  6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

                        If determined to be needed:

                        Monday, June 10, 2019                 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM 

Woods Creek Interceptor Project to begin in Early May
 
This project consists of installing 1,623 Linear Feet of new 16-inch sewer main and 12 new manhole structures, nominally extending from the Lime Kiln Road Bridge to the confluence of Sarah’s Run and Woods Creek, and following the Wood’s Creek Tail corridor. Read more here.
