To participate in the veneration, we had a first class relic and the saint's statue in our Chapel, and on May 23rd prayerfully accompanied the many people who were gathering in Knoxville to venerate the incorrupt heart of this priest of priests.
Some 2000 Catholics saw the relic on its one day in the Diocese of Knoxville. Though we may not have had a visit with this prized relic that, through the Knights of Columbus, is touring the U.S., we have, in our mission to sanctify the priesthood through prayer and sacrifice, a deep affinity with this great Saint.
May this Patron Saint of all Priests intercede not only for many vocations to the priesthood, but for many holy, saintly, persevering priests willing to lay down their lives for their flocks.
“Dear priests, Christ is counting on you. In the footsteps of the Curé of Ars, let yourselves be enthralled by him. In this way you too will be, for the world in our time, heralds of hope, reconciliation and peace!” Pope Benedict XVI from the Year for Priests
