Our Journey, HIS Story
If you stop and look around, really look around, as much as we want everything to be about us, for us, and because of us, it's not. It's not about us. It is mostly about what we do and why we do it. God made it very clear in 2005 to do his work with using the gifts, talents, and resources He’s provided to that point. We have stayed that course ever since. It has been challenging but beyond rewarding to be obedient and in his will against obstacles.
While the focus and call are still the same, God has us building relationships, the mission center, and growing our mission field. Our family has been good at balancing it all. In many cases, serving is a top priority. God says, “GO” and we serve. We're passionate about it. Our Heavenly Father has extended grace to us in keeping balance through the years.
These past three months have been absolutely amazing. Mostly praising God for providing for important family needs we hadn’t had resources to address before, such as our children's education need and a less maintenance needy home.
In March 2019 within a two-week span, God clearly showed us a school solution, in addition to upgrading our housing situation. Prior to March, we were only praying and hopeful about future solutions and provision.
This month we switched homes and in August all four kids will go to the "Christian Academy of Guatemala" with Jackie working in the office in a full-time Volunteer Communications position to waive the tuition fee (there are still other fees). We knew it was God when the position available was in Jackie's field and the current policy was "up to 4 children". The school has 2 USA accreditations with sports and music programs!
Your prayers have sustained us and have been heard. We cannot express enough in words or pictures of how wonderful God has been. Even though His provision is for us, it's still HIS STORY. Our responsibility is to remain trusting and faithful.
The journey doesn't have a map that is revealed to us, but we trust the one who's in charge. The last time we rented a car, we noticed the options for the GPS system for no toll roads, avoid u-turns or freeways, or use the fastest time or shortest distance. It is clear that God's plan is to have us encounter any road or situation. It is our responsibility to get better at trusting that road he has planned for our journey.
As we noticed our kids struggling for the change, we encouraged the focus of “TRUST GOD”. Anything else makes it about us; our desire, our wants, our comfort zone, and our expected outcomes. We are challenged to submit, surrender, and accept His Plan as Jesus did for Him.
Thank you for your prayers. It is a personal journey, but the story is His. “So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (New Living Translation)
Grateful for your encouragement,
