Spring Cleaning? 2020 Planning? We Can Help...

Library Focused. Library Approved. That's our new tagline, and we're mighty proud of it. The Quipu family of customers continues to grow, and each library we add to the list adds to our knowledge base! We had excellent meetings with customers at COSUGI and IUG, and we heard every enhancement request and feature recommendation. Our customers are who really make our whole line of services great, so keep up the good work, gang! - Melissa, Robert and Scott

Explore More Illinois with ePASS – Administered by RAILS

Reaching Across Illinois Library System

Explore More Illinois just went live on April 1, and we already have over 100 libraries and 20 offers participating. Our member libraries and their patrons are finding the software easy to use. An existing museum pass program with the Peoria Riverfront Museum and nearby libraries has moved to ePASS, and now library staff do not have to physically check out passes or keep statistics by hand.

Our next steps include adding non-automated and small ILS libraries to our program. Quipu has worked with us on an alternate way to authenticate libraries without API or SIP2 connections. We are also working on adding additional offers. After seeing the software live, interest in the project has understandably increased, and we are working hard to add the rest of our member libraries. RAILS have more than 400 public library members that use a variety of integrated library systems. Quipu has helped us every step of the way, and the staff have responded quickly with all of our technical questions. They have been a great partner on the project. - Jessica Barnes, Special Projects Librarian, RAILS

PATRON INCIDENT TRACKING (PITS) NEWS

How easy is it to implement PITS? We'll let our customers tell you themselves!

Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach (FL) went live with PITS in March, 2019 in record time for implementation, three and a half weeks!  This is not normal but neither are the folks at Mandel Public Library...  They were especially motivated to get this product up and running quickly for their staff. "Throughout the library, in all departments, I hear from staff how much they are appreciating the access and ease of use. Everyone here is a fan!" reports Janice Collins, Adult Services & Programming Manager

Tulsa City County Library (OK)  went live in December 2018. Quipu Group was asked to roll previous incident reports into PITS and after importing all 2,700 reports, we heard from Rebekah Cowan, Enterprise System Manager "Thank you so much!  It’s really nice to have all the data in PITS."

NATIONAL TREND ON COLLECTION OF GENDER DATA

If you didn't catch the article in the March 2019 issue of American Libraries "Ditch the Gender Data," it's high time to take a look. Quipu Group fields the question on how and if gender data will be collected and recorded nearly every time a new eCARD customer comes on board. Libraries have also told us that they are looking for ways to record a customer's preferred name - not necessarily the name that is on their drivers license - so staff can address customers accordingly. Our eCARD specialists can help with that, as well. Contact us anytime!
