Jane will be in conversation with fellow award-winning writer and FANZA patron, Stella Duffy,about her latest novel, The Lost Man, ('gripping, atmospheric and ultimately deeply satisfying' - Val McDermid) as well as the phenomenal success of her debut novel The Dry.
Author of international bestsellers The Dry, Force of Nature and The Lost Man, Jane's books are published in more than 35 territories worldwide and she's won numerous top awards including the Crime Writers Association Golden Dagger Award for Best Crime Novel, the British Book Awards Crime & Thriller Book of the Year and the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year. The Dry is being made into a major motion picture starring Eric Bana as Aaron Falk; filming is underway in rural Victoria.

The Art of Healing - Exhibition at the Menzies Australia Institute

The Art of Healing: Australian Indigenous Bush Medicine exhibition looks at traditional indigenous healing practice as past, present and future simultaneously. It will present examples of healing practice through contemporary art from the many distinct and varied indigenous communities throughout Australia, and follows the premise of Tjukurrpa (dreaming).
The exhibition is a partnership between Menzies Australia Institute at King's College London, the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health, the Medical History Museum, University of Melbourne and the London exhibition is supported by the university’s Culture team.
Join us at New Zealand House on Sunday 9 June for the launch of Come the Tide, the debut short story collection from Aotearoa/New Zealand writer Sam Reese.
Sam’s collection, published by Platypus Press, has already been hailed as “a masterful collection” by Lochlan Bloom, while a recent review noted that the act of reading these “sun-soaked, water-drenched” stories “becomes an unusually visceral and enlarging experience”.
A reading from the book will be followed by an interview and Q&A, and a wine reception.
As the global war on waste collects momentum, the exhibition Caught In The Net at JGM Gallery London is timely and significant. It is designed to link environmental artists and conservation groups with a wider audience. Exploring and drawing attention to the growing crisis of plastic pollution in our oceans while acknowledging and promoting understanding of varying cultural aspects.
Featuring artwork developed as a collaboration of Erub Arts with Lynnette Griffiths and Marion Gaemers, Australian artists who are at the forefront of the global ghost net artistic movement.
An evening of socialising and an informal buffet supper hosted by the New Zealand Universities Graduates' Association, followed by an address from award winning orchestral conductor Holly Mathieson. The event is open to all; members, non-members and non-graduates are all equally welcome.
