Meet the Fullers: Autism ETC’s June Family of the Month. The family includes Patrick (dad), Mary (mom), Big Brother Zachary (age 7), Little Brother Zane (18 months) and Zoey, age 4.
Patrick and Mary noticed something was different with Zoey when she was very young. She was not developing language skills, had issues with eating, made no eye contact, would not play with other children and was very content playing alone in her room. The Fuller’s expressed their concerns to their pediatrician. It was first thought this was “second child syndrome” and she would grow out of it. Family Grant Programs
As a service to the families we serve, Autism ETC has researched and found grants that may be available to families and individuals affected by ASD. Grants are limited sources of money offered by companies and foundations to help with medical, transportation, and other expenses. We encourage you to apply for any and all grants for which you may qualify
Grants Available Anytime:
- United Healthcare Children's Foundation - Covers medical services or equipment up to $5000.00 per year/$10,000 lifetime (a family does not have to have United Healthcare insurance to apply) - www.uhccf.org/apply-for-a-grant
- C.A.R.E Foundation (California Autism Resource & Evaluation Foundation - Helps families with medication, autism diagnosis/evaluation, therapy sessions (including speech, OT & ABA), or autism summer camps - www.careautismfoundation.com/family-funds/
- National Autism Association - Provides communication devices to individuals with autism who are non-verbal or minimally verbal, and whose communication challenges put them at risk of injury or harm - www.nationalautismassociation.org
- Autism Escapes - Air transportation for medical appointments - www.autismescapes.org
- First Hand - Covers expenses for treatment, equipment, displacement lodging, vehicle modifications - www.firsthandfoundation.org
- Modest Needs - Helps families experiencing a financial crisis including medical expenses - www.modestneeds.org
- NSW Kids Program - The Seal Foundation - for Navy Seal Families Only - Covers direct educational, diagnostic testing, services, and tutoring/mentoring - www.sealfamilyfoundation.org

- ASDF Programs - Scholarships for various summer camps - www.myasdf.org (Deadline is June 15th)
