Join us for the Capital Pride Honors (formerly the Heroes Gala), a reception prior to the Countdown! Pride Celebration Kick-Off Party, at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. We will acknowledge outstanding individuals, organizations, and activists who have furthered the causes important to the LGBTQ+ community in the National Capital Region and beyond.
Delicious culinary tasting stations provided by Mixiology Bartending & Catering. Including stuffed mushrooms, asparagus crostini, jerk chicken bites ginger chicken bacon bites and mini stuffed peppers. Join SAAM, BYT, and the Capital Pride Alliance for a Pride kick-off party like you’ve never seen before with an OPEN BAR and stunning entertainment by MGM National Harbor including music, dancing, art activities, and plenty of other reveals! You will also be able to learn more about LGBTQ+ artists in SAAM’s collection.
Spend your New Queer's Eve ringing in Pride in the most fashionable way possible - with a headlining DJ set from Aquaria, the winner of RuPaul's Drag Race season 10!
We'll kick off the party in the Kogod Courtyard with plenty of underground club vibes, courtesy of Atlanta's Leonce and Newark's Ase Manual.

Are you ready to volunteer? Many of our volunteer positions are still available and we are excited for you to volunteer with us. This year we've added a new position -- accessibility coordinator. This is a unique opportunity to assist folks with disabilities in navigating and experiencing our Parade and Festival.
We've also launched our Adopt-the-Route program. This is the perfect opportunity to get a front row view of one of the largest parades in the city. For this program all you need is a committed group/organization of folks who are willing to volunteer. You can even select the part of the Parade route that you’d like to staff, as long as you can commit to providing the requested number of volunteers! Interested in adopting a part of the route? Presented by the Edlavitch DCJCC, JxJ is a multidisciplinary arts project that encompasses the Washington Jewish Film Festival and the Washington Jewish Music Festival alongside original cutting edge hybrid arts programming—all presented as one massive three-week experience, taking over the greater Washington region from May 8-26.
Rated LGBTQ is the JxJ's queer cinema series presented in partnership with GLOE—The Kurlander Program for GLBT Outreach & Engagement.
