Upcoming Events You Won't Want to Miss
Mixer held at Finch and Fern, 1060 Faraday, Santa Ynez, CA 93460.   Enjoy a taste of Southern Italy as you mix with fellow chamber members to sip select wines poured by Nicole Liddi, sommelier at Carr Winery. Wines will compliment the flavors of the Southern Italian lasagna, bread and salad offered.  Browse the shop that Dawn DeBartolo, owner of Finch and Fern, has put together for feathering your own nest! If you'd like to offer a raffle prize, it's not too late, simply call 805-350-8517.
On Thursday, June 6th, the public is invited to attend this Poolside Meet-And-Greet.  Learn about pool availability and private hosting opportunities. The pool cabana area has been remodeled and the pool deck will be staged for this community-wide event.  Come enjoy complimentary food and beverage hosted by the Chumash Casino and meet fellow SYV residents. Enter the 50/50 raffle to benefit the Santa Ynez Chamber's local community programs.  This is sure to be a beautiful event by the pool, and a great way to kick off the summer season, put a reminder on your calendar or in your phone and we'll see you there!
Head over to Sagunto Street on Saturday morning, June 8th for this small town celebration of Old Santa Ynez.  Western wear is encouraged, but certainly not mandatory, so put on your boots (or not) and come take a walk around Santa Ynez.  Stop by the Santa Ynez Chamber tent for local merchant information.  Alvin Salge, and members from the VFW, will be stationed at the Chamber booth in the morning and will be handing out flags along the parade route prior to the parade.  Say thank you to these Veterans and wave that flag proudly! Our unique and fabulous Santa Ynez merchants and restaurants will be open along with added activities for the kids and vendors on the street. Be sure to walk (or ride) all the way down Sagunto to check out even more shops and restaurants.  Lots of fun places to find on Edison, Numancia, and Faraday Streets too. A great day to explore the Township of Santa Ynez!
Hang your flags proudly from your shops, restaurants and offices this Memorial Day weekend.  Proper flag etiquette for Memorial Day, the last Monday in May, flag should be half staff until noon then raised.  The flag should be hoisted briskly and lower ceremoniously.  The American flag should be taken down at sunset unless it is illuminated during the hours of darkness.  For more details and a little history concerning "Old Glory" and flag etiquette visit American Legion.org or VFW.org
