One of the founding members of the Janusz Korczak Association of the USA, Marcia Talmage Schneider is in Kiev this week and her book, Janusz Korczak: Sculptor of Children’s Souls has been translated into Ukrainian, thanks to the efforts of many members of the Ukrainian Korczak Association and Svetlana Petrovskaya. What a special moment this is for our dear Marcia.

For her book, Marcia interviewed ten people in Israel who lived at the orphanage and whose lives Korczak influenced in profound ways. Out of the ten orphans who left the orphanage before WWII for Palestine, only one is still alive today. Of course you don’t need to know Ukrainian, to read her wonderful book, It is available in English, from Amazon.
