Community Concert - Ric Gordon
Saturday June 15th - 2 PM
Join the library for another Outdoor Community Concert with Ric Gordon. In a career spanning 40 years, since the release of his debut album "Just Can't Get Enough," the Kansas City based singer/songwriter's performances continue engage audiences with his infectious brand of folkrock and altcountry. Ric owns indie label, Russian Winter Records, where he has produced albums and EPs by 26 artists.

Please bring lawn chairs. Concert is free and will be held inside the library in the event of rain.

3D Modeling Camp - CodeClarinda
June 3rd thru 7th
2-4 PM


Learn how to design your own 3D printed showpiece! 3D Modeling is also used for video game design, animation and more! Learn the basics of 3D Modeling. You'll start by creating simple shapes and assemble them into more complex creations using TinkerCAD. Designs will then be brought to reality using out 3D printer! Ages: 13+ (open to adults)

Making Space for Your Memories

Professional Organizer Lisa Tonjes Moritz from Omaha, NE specializes in photo organization and will share information on how to organize, share and save your memories.

Lisa is currently Omaha's only Personal Photo Organizer and member of the Association of Personal Photo Organizers. (APPO) She has a passion for helping clients save and share all of their precious memories.

Apollo 11 Virtual Reality Experience
Monday June 17th

Experience the greatest journey every taken by humankind, the Apollo 11 mission, through the eyes of those who lived it using the library’s Virtual Reality. Signup each hour on the hour between 10 am to 7 pm. The experience uses a mix of the original archive audio and video recordings together with accurate recreations of the spacecraft and locations all set to inspirational music. Relive the events of 1969 and even take control and fly the command module, land the lunar lander and explore the moon's surface.

Open to those ages 13+. Contact the library reserve a time.

Technology Help
  Friday June 14th at 1 & 2 PM

You can come in any time during the hour, to help find information related to specific problems you have encountered when working with computers, smartphones, ereaders, apps, Microsoft Office, surfing the Web, and using the library databases or catalog. No registration is necessary. Feel free to bring your laptop, flash drive, or device.

Star Gazing 101
Tuesday June 18th 5:30 PM


Learn how you can explore the universe and catch a glimpse of the Moon using telescopes you can borrow from the library! Learn how telescopes work and discover stars and constellations in the night sky. Program will also cover other viewing devices and technology that can help you explore the night sky.

Using their unlimited imaginations, kids travel through space with cadets of the Academy as the problem solve, overcome challenges and work together as a team. Incorporated into the voyage are elements of STEM, stimulating and encouraging young minds.


 
From the dry desert to the soggy swamp, animals can be found in many different habitats around the world. Just as an astronaut needs a spacesuit in outer space, animals require many special adaptations to survive in their environments. Join a zoo educator and meet some animals first-hand to learn about their "otherworldly" adaptations.
