President's Message

On May 2 our mariachi had the honor to play at an exclusive event for the Founders Cub of the House of Blues; it was a new experience for our students.

Our Orchestra Chamber group was invited to perform for the second time at the event of Empowered Women of the Scouting program.

Thank you to the teachers, fathers and students for their dedication to our foundation. We are on the final sprint of this scholar year, but we are already planning for the next school year. Our hope is to make it even better.

Claudia Rivera
President

CJ Neary in Concert

On May 7, 2019 FAYM students and parents had the privilege of hearing CJ Neary perform a special concert for us! CJ Neary started playing instruments at a very young age. He is currently 13 and has already written several pieces of music and performs with a 5-man band.

CJ not only plays the fiddle with his ‘Country Style’ band he is also a vocalist. One of the things that caught my attention early in the performance was the differences in age of the band members.  CJ is 13 but the other 4 members range in age from 16 (approx.) to 50+ years of age! It is interesting that despite the differences in age, they perform as a well-trained band!  During a question and answer period I asked CJ what inspired him to write his own music. He grinned and indicated that many times when he is mad the music just comes to him. Some of his original compositions include Why Do We Have To,Same Old Place, All For Something, and Hard Way

As they played their music, the band members moved to the beat causing those of us in the audience to also move to the beat! It was a great concert because we could see, hear, and feel the music.  CJ, you were a real inspiration to FAYM students and parents!
